Today marks the 35th anniversary of the conclusion of the production of Bartons. By this day in 1987, everything was shot, edited and transferred on to broadcast tapes. Only one thing remained left to do...

So, on 22 August 1987, a big Going Away-party was held in Studio 31. It was the very last time cast and crew were together in one room.

After production concluded, all went quiet. The kids returned to school and the adult actors and the crew moved on to other projects. The owners of 5 Copnal Court (and the rest of the street) got their peace and quiet back, that's lasting to this day.

On 29 February 1988, over six months after production concluded, the first episode was broadcast by the ABC. But that's an anniversary that we'll look back on in about six months :)

Pics of the going away party (and tons of other photos) can be found on the Photos page.
